Brief Description :

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarships Program was created by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. It aim to assist French higher education institutions in attracting outstanding international students to pursue their master’s and PhD programs.

This program provides an opportunity for aspiring future leaders from both the private and public sectors, with a focus on priority areas of study. It encourages applicants who are under the age of 25 from developing countries to apply for master’s level programs. Applicants up to the age of 30 from both developing and industrialized countries are encouraged to apply for PhD level programs.

All French Universities and Academic Institutions.

Level of Study:

Master’s degree program, engineering program, or a joint doctoral program (with the supervision of dissertation and/or dual degree) in collaboration with a partner institution abroad.

Field(s) of Study:

The Eiffel scholarships cover two major disciplinary fields for the Master and Doctorate components:
For science and technology: Biology and health; Ecological transition; Mathematics and digital; Engineering Sciences.
For the humanities and social sciences: French history, language, and civilization; Law and political science; Economics and management.

Scholarship Value/Inclusions/Duration:

For Master’s level studies, the Eiffel scholarships provides a monthly allowance of €1,181 for 12-36 months.
For PhD level studies, the Eiffel scholarship provides a monthly allowance of €1,700 for a maximum of 12 months.
The scholarship also covers various expenses such as international transportation, national transportation, health insurance, housing searches, and cultural activities.
Tuition fees are not covered by the Eiffel program. However, recipients of French government scholarships are exempt from tuition charges for programs leading to a national diploma (master, doctorate) or accredited engineering degree in public institutions overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

Application Instructions:

Applications for the Eiffel scholarships are not accepted directly from students. They must be submitted by French Higher Education Institutions.
To apply for the scholarship, you need to meet the requirements of the French Higher Education Institution you are applying to.
Contact the institution’s office of international relations through their website, email, or telephone to learn how to apply for admission and express your interest in being considered for an Eiffel scholarships.
The application deadline for participating French Institutions is usually around November-December 2023. The deadline for applications to Campus France is January 10, 2024.
