Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships will provide the recipient with the following benefits:

  • Faculty for the Future grants are based on actual costs for eligible expenses up to a maximum of USD 50,000 per year for a PhD and maximum of USD 40,000 per year for a Post-doc and may be renewed through to completion of studies.

Eligibility for the Schlumberger foundation faculty program:

To be eligible for the Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English.
Nationality: Open to female candidates from all countries around the world.
Citizenship: Applicants should be citizens of developing countries or emerging economies. Dual citizenship is not eligible if one of the citizenships is from a developed country. If a grant recipient acquires citizenship of a developed country after receiving the award, the grant will be discontinued.
Academic Pursuit: Candidates should be preparing for a PhD degree or post-doctoral research in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It is important to note that the program does not fund Master’s level studies. Awards in the biological sciences are limited to interdisciplinary research between physical and biological sciences.
University Enrollment: Applicants should be enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a host university or research institute abroad. It is no longer possible to apply without having applied to a university. For sandwich courses, the final degree must be awarded by the host university abroad, not the home country university.
Academic Excellence: Candidates should have an excellent academic record.
Teaching Experience: A proven track record of teaching experience or a demonstrated commitment to teaching is preferred.
Participation in Faculty Life and Outreach Programs: Candidates should demonstrate active participation in faculty life and outreach programs that aim to encourage young women to pursue careers in the sciences.
